To France and beyond

It is important to Maridith and I that you know what is going on in our lives. We just finished

this semester of school. This summer we will be working with Snowbird Outfitters May-Aug. As

you know we have given ourself to answer the call to foreign missions. This will land us in Africa

in 2011 with the Echelon team. The Echelon is a team being developed to take the gospel to people

groups on the continent of Africa that have not yet heard of Christ and his salvation. This will be a

team supported through the board and we will be working throughout Africa. The need is staggering

on this large and dark continent. We know that in and of ourselves we are helpless, but God has

called us there and that is what makes the difference. We go in his power and in his will. The road

is long and there is still much to do. But you can help now. Maridith and I are preparing to work as

the language specialists of the Echelon team. This is an involved process and we both have much

more to learn and experience in order for us to gain the capacity to serve as language coaches. So

what does that look like for us? The process has already started. I have been studying the French

language for about seven months now and I have had much success. “Why French?” you ask.

French is spoken by 115 million Africans in 31 countries throughout Africa. In preparation for the

work in Africa, Maridith and I must be fluent in the language in order to teach and learn in French

speaking Africa. In our investigation for French language schools we found Ecole De Langue Des

Cèdres. Cèdres is a highly recommend French immersion school operated by a church in Massy,

France. We will study there starting in August and return in December. This school will provide an

environment where Maridith and I can both learn French and minister to the people there in Massy.

We are excited about having you join with us in the beginnings to our journey to Africa. We know

that not everybody is called to go as the missionary but you can take part right where you are. The

immediate need that we have is $8,000. This is what we need in order to pay for you tuition, rent,

and living expenses. We ask you to pray about how God will use you to be senders for Maridith

and I as we follow God’s call to the nations.
