may : a month of transitions

We ended our spring semester at TCCC well. We worked hard and we both were pleased with the final results. Maridith finished her associates and I took one-step forward toward my undergrad.  As soon as the classes were finished we took off for a wonderful trip to visit Maridith’s family.  We made the 500 miles on my old 82 Honda. It was a much-needed adventure and the trip down was simply beautiful. We stopped at the Uncle Remus museum and also at the home of Flannery O’Conner. We road into Ocala with much excitement and started off the week with some much needed rest. One of the highlights of the week was hearing Maridith speak to the youth on a Wednesday night. She did such a wonderful job. I also was pleased to visit with my old friend from my hometown, Brian Jerry.  Sunday we had the honor of being there for the baby dedication of the Wade family’s first grandbaby, Anniston Marie. The whole family was there - even the Sr. Wades, Maridith’s grandparents. It was a blessing to See Bubba and Katie holding their little child and we all prayed over her. The week was rich with the love of a godly family and there was no shortage of laughs. I honestly say it was hard to leave but staff training started that next Monday.  We enjoyed another 500 mile eventful trip back home. We got a little rest before the day we had all been waiting for... staff training for SWO9. This is the first staff training for Maridith and I in a while, but we settled into the saddle quick enough. This staff training was one of the best trainings for me.  Having the Tar Babies back in action is a blessing and we are all excited about the summer and watching the students roll in. Today begins week three and we are looking forward to spending it with Steve Brooks and the crew from Hillside that went with us to Honduras in April.

Please continue to pray for the ministry here at SWO.
